Ava came to us from a breeder to find her forever home and when she first arrived, she was an absolute heartbreaker. She was completely shut down and seemed to have lost faith in life. Since then she has moved to a foster home where she is settling in incredibly well and learning all about home life for the first time.

Ava will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home, where she can settle in at her own pace and would benefit from adopters with experience with ex-breeding dogs. She relies on other dogs for comfort and so will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to take her under their wing. She would prefer her canine companion to be quite laid back and gentle.

Ava had never lived in a home before moving to foster so her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she continues to settle in and learn all about home life. She has so far been clean inside her foster home, but may have some accidents in her new home as she settles in. She has discovered the joy of comfy beds and sleeps through the night while snoring her little head off.

She is getting used to wearing a harness, but is still quite worried about having a lead attached to her. She is inquisitive and eager to follow the resident dogs on walks, but does need to be build her confidence up more as she gets used to walking on a lead. She is fine and unfazed on car journeys.

She is a very sweet little girl who is easy to handle and will now even take treats from your hand. With lots of love, kindness and patience, we think she is going to blossom into the most wonderful friend, so please don't leave her waiting too long.

Ava has had a lump removed from the last mammary gland at the time of spay and our vets have noted that she has low grade luxating patellas that will need to be monitored, but may improve with gentle exercise as she builds muscle. She is a little overweight at the moment, but she should soon shed the excess. She has been treated for an ear infection.
