24-01-26 Please meet the beautiful Tao, a very special girl with a story of strength, bravery and resilience.

Tao first came to us a few weeks ago after she had been involved in an accident. She had attempted to jump from a livestock trailer and became trapped by both of her back legs, resulting in fractures to both. Tao underwent major surgery for bilateral fractures of the calcaneal tuber along with ruptured Achilles tendons. Implants were placed in both legs, with circumferential wire applied, and she then came into our care to begin her recovery.

We are delighted to say that Tao is now out of her casts, following a physiotherapy programme and making wonderful progress. She has been an absolute star throughout her recovery and is now ready to begin her search for a loving forever home. Copies of her X-rays can be forwarded to any potential adopters vets. Her adopters will need to be mindful that she is still recovering and will need ongoing physio and vet checks. They will also need to ensure that she doesn't jump on and off furniture or walk up and down stairs until she is fully recovered. She will need to be crated when left home alone or unsupervised to ensure she is kept safe.

Tao is a friendly, affectionate and confident girl who has been a perfect patient. She could happily be homed as an only dog provided her adopters are around for most of the time and will help her grow into a well rounded adult. She could also be homed with another kind and gentle resident dog who wouldn't mind having a puppy chasing around after them.

Tao would really benefit from adopters with experience of collies who understand their intelligent and active minds. Once she has had a little more time to continue healing, we believe she will thrive in an active home where she can enjoy plenty of mental stimulation and, in time, lovely walks and adventures with her new family. Tao has already started learning how to walk on a lead and harness with us and is doing very well.

Tao has has lived in a home environment before, but as she's just a puppy she will still need to learn all about home life and new skills like house training.

Tao is a truly wonderful little soul who has been through so much in her short life. Now, she deserves nothing more than a loving, committed home where she can continue to heal, blossom and enjoy the happy future she so deserves.

She will need to attend puppy socialisation classes and her adopters will need to agree to have her spayed at the appropriate age as per the adoption agreement.

Can live with other dogs

This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
