Sutton
Sutton is a very frightened and sensitive little lady who came to us from a breeder, having had very little experience of the world. When she first arrived, she was absolutely terrified of everything and completely shut down. While she remains a worried girl and can still find changes in routine stressful, we are now starting to see small but heart-warming signs of progress.
With time and consistency, Sutton has begun to show glimpses of her personality. She now gets excited when she sees her kennel mummy first thing in the morning, which is a huge step for a girl who once tried to make herself invisible. She takes great comfort from other dogs and adores her kennel friends, it’s not uncommon to find her snuggled up closely with them, drawing confidence from their presence.
Sutton has started her harness training, although this is being taken very slowly and at her pace. Walking and the outside world may still feel overwhelming for her for some time, and her future adopters will need to continue this gentle, patient approach without any pressure.
As Sutton has never lived in a home before, she will need adopters who understand that everything, household noises, routines, and house training, will be completely new to her. She is looking for an experienced, adult-only home with at least one kind, confident resident dog who can help guide her and show her that life with humans can be safe and predictable.
Sutton is a beautiful girl who has missed out on so much in her early life. With patience, understanding, and the support of another dog, she has every chance to continue growing in confidence and begin to truly thrive. In the right home, Sutton will slowly blossom and discover what it means to feel safe, loved, and secure.
Sutton has a travel document.
