26-01-26 This beautiful girl is Kimchi and she has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She arrived with us several weeks ago and has spent the last five weeks in a foster home, where she has settled in incredibly well.

Unfortunately, shortly after arrival, we began to notice signs that Kimchi wasn't quite right. She was scratching more than normally expected and had stiffness on her back legs and would sometimes squint her eyes. She visited the vet and was then referred to a specialist neurologist for an MRI scan which revealed that she has a neurological condition Syringomyelia/Chiari-like malformation, which can be quite common in Cavaliers. She has started medication for this and has been responding very well, with her fosterers already noticing a big difference in her and reduced pain levels. We would be able to send her specialist report to any potential adopters vet for them to see. She has also had 10 teeth extracted at the time of her spay.

Kimchi hasn't let any of this hold her back and has been the most wonderful girl in her foster home. She is very sweet natured and is so gentle and affectionate. She is a happy girl whose tail is always wagging and is just a total delight.

She will be looking for a loving home with adopters who have plenty of time to spend with her and who will ensure that her medical needs are met and are willing to learn all about her condition. Adopters who have previous experience with syringomyelia would be ideal.

Kimchi loves other dogs and will need at least one other kind and friendly dog in her new home to be her friend and help her to settle in, she is particularly fond of other cavaliers and loves to share a bed with the other cavaliers in her foster home. She enjoys playing with other dogs and has shown interest in toys, but isn't quite sure what to do with them yet.

Kimchi enjoys gentle human interaction and loves a fuss and attention. She is also a big foodie! She does the most adorable little twirls and zoomies when she is excited and does the best meerkat impression!

She had never lived in a home before moving to foster, but she has settled in incredibly well and is learning all about home life and house training and is now mostly house trained. She will need to learn all about walking on a lead and harness, but we think that she will enjoy going on walks with her new family.

Kimchi has been through so much in her short life and is a very special and brave girl. She has loved her time in foster but she is so ready to find her perfect forever home and we think that whoever adopts her is going to adore her. She's ready to bring so much joy to her forever family!

Kimchi has a travel document.
