Delaney
Delaney is a sweet, gentle Bichon Frise who has recently arrived with us from a breeder in Ireland. Despite all the changes in her life, she has blossomed into a bright little ray of sunshine. She is always happy to approach for affection and grateful for every bit of kindness she’s offered.
We feel Delaney would truly thrive with another dog in the home. A confident canine friend will give her the reassurance and support she needs as she continues to learn about the world and grow in confidence.
Since Delaney has been living in her foster home, she has been doing well with house training progress and is enjoying her walks. With regards to walking on a double lead, she has been amazing since her first outing. She does not pull and walks very well, either at her handler’s side or slightly behind when near traffic. She is happy to greet other dogs as well as people and has just started feeling comfortable enough to go to the toilet while out and about. Her daily walks are around 5km, and she has no problems with this distance. She has also been taken on a 10km walk, with stops, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
She could live with older, dog-savvy children who understand that she will need a calm, quiet introduction to her new environment, along with her own safe space to retreat to as she settles in.
Delaney is a wonderfully sweet girl who gets along well with other dogs and is ready to flourish in a loving home. With the right family by her side, she’ll make a devoted, joyful companion for life.
She has come to us with alopecia on her back that should grow back with time and love.
She has a PETS travel document.
Delaney has been given the Gift of Life by Margaret Hunter
