Colin
05-12-25 Colin is one of several dogs rescued from a repossessed home where they had been left abandoned in truly heartbreaking conditions, with urine and feces caked throughout. With no one to care for them, the dogs were left to fend for themselves. Thankfully, despite the state of the home, all of the dogs were in surprisingly good condition, suggesting they once knew love and care. Now, they are here at Many Tears and are ready to start their journey towards finding their perfect forever homes.
Colin is still a puppy really, but he is a very frightened little boy who is feeling completely overwhelmed to find himself here. Right now, he is in need of gentle love, patience, and plenty of TLC as he begins to understand that he is safe. He is too worried to approach us at the moment and when someone approaches him, he freezes and crouches to the ground in fear.
Colin relies heavily on his kennel friends for comfort, drawing confidence from having other dogs around him. Because of this, he will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in his new home who can take him under their wing, show him the ropes, and help him feel braver day by day. A calm and quiet home where he can settle at his own pace will be essential.
Although he has been inside a home before, Colin will likely need to learn all about house training again. He does not yet walk on a lead, so his adopters will need to help him practise safely in the garden until he is ready to take the next step.
Colin may be very shut down right now, but with time, patience, and the support of a loving canine companion, he will start to blossom. He just needs someone willing to offer him the gentleness and understanding he has been missing.
