I am missing my left hip but this doesn't slow me down!

Fudge is an amazing lady with a heart full of love and a bottom that truly never stops wiggling. She previously lived happily in a home but was returned to her breeder through no fault of her own and has since come to us, where she has quickly become an absolute staff favourite. She seemingly does not have a hip that has formed properly but this does not slow her down. Despite the changes she’s experienced, Fudge’s joyful, larger-than-life personality shines through every single day.

Fudge is an active, affectionate girl who makes the most of every opportunity to have fun. She enjoys daily walks and playtime in the yards, where she can often be seen tearing around with her kennel friends, jumping on and off things as if her hips were perfectly formed. She meets other dogs with a playful bow and gets on well with both males and females. Fudge could live as an only dog, provided she isn’t left for long periods, or she would be happy sharing her home with a kind, calm resident dog.

Her happiness is truly contagious, staff regularly pop into her section just to spend time with her, and it’s impossible not to smile when she’s around. Fudge adores affection, loves her toys (though the occasional soft toy has been known to “explode”!), and brings endless laughter and joy to everyone she meets.

Fudge is looking for a very active home where she can join in on plenty of adventures. She could live with older, dog-savvy children who are comfortable with her bouncy enthusiasm. Having lived in a home before, she should have some understanding of house training, although she may need a few reminders as she settles into a new environment. Fudge will need a home without cats, as she is far too interested in them.

Fudge was born with a deformity and is missing her left hip, which results in an inward deflection to her gait. However, this does not slow her down or appear to cause her any pain. She has been assessed by a specialist, and it has been decided that no further intervention is needed at this time, as she is doing exceptionally well just as she is. X-rays are available for approved applicants to share with their own vet.

Fudge is a truly special girl, affectionate, full of life, and impossible not to love. She is ready to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of wiggly greetings to a home that will cherish her as much as we do.
