I’d be happy with dog-savvy children who respect my space.

  • Other pet requirements

I could live with other dogs or be an only dog. I have met cats fine.

  • House and garden requirements

I would like a secure garden to spend time in.

  • Out and about requirements

I’d enjoy one or two quiet walks a day and plenty of cuddle time.

  • Training needs

I’ve never lived in a home, so I need to learn housetraining and other basics

  • Medical issues

Please read below for more information about my health.

16-12-25 Daphne is a happy-go-lucky Cocker Spaniel who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a fresh start. She has been described as a little princess! Daphne enjoys a good zoom around the kennels and has a playful, lively nature, but she has arrived carrying some extra weight. With a balanced diet and gentle, regular exercise, she’ll be supported to reach a healthier weight and feel her best.

Daphne gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would be happy to share her home with a canine companion. She’s also confident enough to live as an only dog, provided her adopters are around often enough to give her the company and attention she enjoys. She has met a cat at the rescue and was fine, so may be able to be homed with a dog savvy cat.

As Daphne has never lived in a home before, she will need patient guidance with house training and learning the routines of home life. She can already walk on a lead and, once settled, will enjoy one or two gentle walks around the neighbourhood, either on her own or with a resident dog.

Daphne could share her home with older, dog-savvy children who understand the importance of a calm, gentle introduction and allowing her space to settle in comfortably.

Daphne has been assessed by our vets, who have noted a fatty lump on her left shoulder that will need further investigation, cataracts in both eyes, and some sore ears and skin. She has been spayed and has had 2 teeth removed at the time of spay as well as polypoid structure near the entrance of ear canal. The vets have removed as much as possible but she does have a stenotic ear canal due to chronic ear issues that will need to monitored in her new home. She has a fatty lump on her left shoulder that the vets have advised do not need any further action at this time, but will need to be monitored.

With her wonderful personality and affectionate nature, Daphne has all the makings of a fantastic family dog and will be a truly special companion in the right home.
