My adopter will need to agree to have me neutered when I'm old enough.

10-02-26 Barclay was briefly adopted but has since been returned to us, as the home turned out not to be the right fit for him and now he is looking for a family of his own that will love him unconditionally.

Barclay is a gorgeous little boy who came to us alongside his mummy as part of a group of dogs rescued from a repossessed home. They had been left abandoned in truly heartbreaking conditions, with urine and faeces caked throughout the property. With no one to care for them, the dogs were forced to fend for themselves. Despite this awful start, all of the dogs were found to be in surprisingly good condition, suggesting they had once known love and kindness. Now safe at Many Tears, they are ready to begin their journey towards brighter futures and loving forever homes.

Barclay came to us as the only pup in his litter, and while he is confident, cheeky, and full of character, this also means he hasn’t naturally learned some of the social skills that puppies usually develop with siblings. He has shown signs of frustration when he is picked up and doesn't want to be, so his adopters must understand that Barclay values his personal space, and will need respectful handling and clear, consistent guidance.

Barclay will need adopters who are committed to positive training, puppy classes, and structured socialisation, helping him learn appropriate social cues, boundaries, and coping skills. He will benefit from routine, calm leadership, and patient guidance as he learns the world doesn’t always have to be on his terms. He can live with older dog-savvy children who are sensible and don't mind a playful puppy in the home.

Ideally, Barclay would live with a confident, well-balanced resident dog who doesn’t mind having a puppy in the home and can help teach him appropriate dog-to-dog manners and communication. This kind of role model would be incredibly valuable for his development. He will not be suitable for inexperienced homes or environments where boundaries and structure are lacking.

As with any puppy, his new family will need patience and understanding while he learns house training, lead walking, and everyday life skills. Gentle garden exploration will be a great start until he is fully vaccinated and ready to explore the wider world.

Barclay is a cheeky, bright, intelligent little boy with huge potential, and with the right guidance, structure, and understanding, he will grow into a wonderful companion. His adopters will need to agree to have him neutered when he is old enough.
