  • Human family requirements

I’d be happy with older dog-savvy children who respect my space.

  • Other pet requirements

I need a resident dog to help me feel safe but I haven’t met cats yet so I'm not sure

I would love a secure garden I can run and play in!

  • Out and about requirements

I am learning to walk on a harness but will need continued encouragements.

  • Training needs

I’ve never lived in a home, so I need to learn housetraining and lead walking.

  • Medical issues

I am fully vaccinated and will need to be neutered when I am of age!

03-02-26 Monty is a shy but sweet Boxer who has come into our care from a breeder. He can be nervous in new surroundings and around unfamiliar dogs and will sometimes bark at first, but once he knows it’s safe, his playful, goofy side shines! Monty is a big, bouncy puppy who loves to play with his toys and interact with friends, but he is still learning about the world and can get a little spooked at times.

Monty thrives on the company of confident dogs and will need a confident resident dog to guide him and help him feel reassured as he settles in. He will also need someone he can look to as his best friend and playmate who doesn't mind joining in on zoomies in the garden and sharing their toys!

Monty has never lived in a home and will need patient and gentle guidance as he learns the basics of house training, walking on a lead, and other aspects of home life. He currently walks on a harness and is making great progress, though he may still “put the brakes on” when something startles him but he is growing in confidence daily!

Monty could live with older, dog-savvy children who understand that he’ll need a calm introduction to his new surroundings and a safe space to feel secure.

As he is still just a young boy, he will benefit greatly from training and socialization classes that can help him build his confidence and allow him to create new experiences in a controlled manner. He has arrived with a small cut on his left eyelid, and our vets are keeping a close eye to make sure he’s comfortable and healing well and his adopters will need to agree to have him neutered when he is of age.

Monty has a huge heart, a love of play, and a strong desire to please. With the right patient and loving home, he will blossom into a wonderful companion and loyal friend.

Monty has been given the Gift of Life by Jayne Lampitt
