  • Human family requirements

I’d be happy with dog-savvy teenagers who respect my space.

  • Other pet requirements

I need a resident dog to help me feel safe but I haven’t met cats yet so I'm not sure

  • House and garden requirements

I will need a secure garden while I get used to my new home.

  • Out and about requirements

I'm still getting used to my new life so a secure garden for me to explore is ideal.

  • Training needs

I’ve never lived in a home, so I need to learn housetraining and lead walking.

  • Medical issues

I have Grade 1 luxating patellas, which may improve with gentle exercise.

28-01-26 Marcia is a sensitive Cavalier who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a fresh start. She can be quite worried and hesitant around people at first and will need time and patience to build her confidence. Once she’s gently lifted into your arms, she settles nicely, but she feels most at ease in the comforting company of other dogs.

Marcia gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies heavily on their presence for reassurance. Because of this, she will need a kind, confident resident dog in her new home to help guide her and provide the comfort she needs as she settles in and finds her paws.

As Marcia has never lived in a home before, she will need patient support as she learns about house training, walking on a lead, and other everyday basics of home life.

She could share her home with dog-savvy teenagers who understand that she will need a calm, gentle introduction to her new surroundings and her own quiet space to settle in.

When Marcia arrived with us, she was already missing three teeth, and following a veterinary check, a further two were removed. She has since been spayed and had her ears cleaned, and she is now feeling much more comfortable and ready to begin the next chapter of her life. She has recently presented with a Grade 1 left luxating patella that does not require treatment at this time, but will need to monitored in her new home for any future treatment she may need.
