Mallow
Mallow is an extremely sensitive boy who has come to us from a breeder. We are told that he is a Poodle cross, and we believe this may be with a Bernese as he is quite a large boy, although we cannot be certain. When he first arrived, he was very flighty when being handled and would need an experienced home where he could learn about trust and companionship. Over the past few weeks, however, he has made lovely progress and is now starting to enjoy affection from people he knows and trusts. He is a truly sweet boy who will make a wonderful companion for the right family.
Mallow walks nicely on his harness and is becoming braver with the people, dogs, and new experiences he comes across on his walks. He also really enjoys spending time in the large, secure play yard. He is fantastic with other dogs, both big and small, male and female, and will need the confidence and support of a kind resident dog in the home to help him continue building his confidence and settle into family life.
He could share his home with older, dog-savvy teenagers aged 16 and over who understand that he will need a gentle and quiet introduction to the home, along with his own safe space to relax and settle.
As Mallow has never lived in a home environment, his adopters will need to be patient and understanding as he learns about house training and daily routines. While he is doing well on a lead, he may benefit from starting with gentle garden time in a secure space before gradually exploring the world once he feels comfortable.
Mallow is currently on a gastro diet after previously having a sensitive tummy, which has now improved. His new family will need to continue managing this to keep him feeling his best. He shares toys, beds, and food well with other dogs, although he is currently fed separately to ensure he only eats his specialist food.
Our vets have also noted a slightly inflamed right shoulder. This is not causing him any issues at present but should be monitored.
Mallow is a handsome, gentle, and affectionate boy who has come such a long way already and just needs a kind and patient family to help him continue to blossom.
Mallow has a travel document.
