Raven is a sweet, curious girl who has come to us from a breeder. When she first arrived she was quite worried, but her confidence has steadily grown and her cheeky, comical personality is really starting to shine through.

She has been settling into foster life and continues to go from strength to strength. Home life was completely new to Raven at first and she found it overwhelming, but she has adapted beautifully and is now fully house-trained. She has embraced many of the comforts of home, loves relaxing on the sofa beside her fosters, and has quickly learned the household routine. In fact, she's always happy to remind everyone when it's dinner time, just in case they've forgotten!

Sadly, Raven was briefly adopted, but she struggled to form a bond with her adopters. As they found handling her difficult, Raven became frightened and, when she felt cornered, reacted out of fear by nipping. Since returning to her foster home, it is as though she has never been away. She settled straight back into her familiar routine and her confidence has continued to blossom.

Raven is still a naturally timid and sensitive little girl, but she has made incredible progress. She now actively seeks out affection from her foster mummy and always wants to be close by whenever they sit down. She will happily accept gentle fusses from trusted people and is beginning to extend that trust to visitors too, allowing them to sit beside her and stroke her. She can still be worried if unfamiliar people approach her whilst standing, although a tasty treat often helps, as Raven is a proper foodie!

She has such a lovely, gentle temperament and has been wonderful for bathing, grooming and handling. Following her return she needed to be clipped quite short, and she was an absolute star for the groomer, allowing herself to be fully handled. Her coat will require daily brushing to keep it looking its best.

Raven absolutely adores other dogs and must have at least one kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide and reassure her. She relies heavily on canine companionship, gets on brilliantly with the dogs in foster, and is also living happily alongside a cat, who she ignores, so she could potentially live with a dog-savvy feline. She would find young children too much at the moment, but we would consider gentle, dog-savvy older teenagers who would allow her to settle at her own pace.

One of Raven's favourite parts of the day is walkies! She has gone from taking her very first tentative steps on a lead to genuinely loving her walks and walks beautifully without pulling. She has also seen light traffic, travels well in a crate in the car, and has started recall work on a long line, which is progressing nicely.

Raven is now looking for an experienced home with adopters who understand ex-breeding dogs and the time they need to settle. She is likely to take a step backwards when she moves into a new home, just as she did previously, so she will need patient, confident and consistent adopters who will give her the time and space to build trust at her own pace. Once she feels safe, Raven truly is a wonderful little dog with so much love to give, and watching her become the superstar she is in foster will be incredibly rewarding.

Our vets have noted that Raven has Grade 2 patella luxation, which may improve with gentle exercise as she builds muscle. She also had an abdominal hernia repaired at the time of her spay and has been treated for an ear infection.
