Pasta is a very active boy who has come to us from a home through no fault of his own. He is a wonderful boy who loves everyone he meets and greets the world with enthusiasm and a waggy tail. We are told that he is a Collie x Terrier and so he will need a super active home that can keep up with his busy nature, as he thrives on being out and about and will need plenty of time spent outdoors enjoying long walks and adventures.

Pasta is incredibly affectionate and thrives on human company. He loves spending quality time with his people, whether that’s heading out on an adventure or settling down for some well-earned fuss and attention. Despite his high energy, he does have a softer side and is more than happy to relax and enjoy close companionship, happily soaking up affection and even drifting off beside you.

At the moment, we feel that Pasta would be best suited to being homed as an only dog. Although he gets on well with other dogs, he is very high energy and can often be too much for them. He can also become frustrated when he sees dogs on lead that he cannot greet, which can result in some reactivity. This is not rooted in aggression, but in excitement and frustration, and is something his adopters will need to continue working on through training and positive reinforcement.

Pasta is a bright and intelligent boy who is already making lovely progress with his manners. When he first arrived, he could become very excitable, pulling on the lead and showing his enthusiasm with some over-the-top behaviours. He is learning that calm, polite behaviour is rewarded and is responding really well to this guidance. He has been working on his basic training, including “sit,” and is beginning to understand that keeping all four paws on the ground brings him more attention and affection. He can still become a little mouthy when excited, but this is being positively redirected onto toys.

He enjoys playing, particularly with his ball, which he absolutely loves, and his favourite time of day is getting out into a secure space to play fetch. While he is learning to return and drop the ball, he can sometimes get a little carried away in the moment! Pasta would really thrive in an active home that can provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation, and he could excel in activities such as agility.

Although Pasta presents as a confident and happy boy, he can sometimes feel unsure in new environments or when walking unfamiliar routes. He gains confidence from walking with another dog, and once he overcomes that initial worry, his playful and adventurous side quickly shines through.

As Pasta has come to us from a home, he is familiar with the general sights and sounds of a home environment. He may still need some training with house training and polishing up his lead walking skills, but with consistency and positive guidance, he is sure to pick things up quickly.

Pasta could share his home with dog savvy teenagers 16+ who can understand that he will need a gentle introduction to his new surroundings and his own space to settle when needed.

Pasta is a fun-loving, affectionate boy who will bring energy, laughter, and endless companionship to an active family ready to embrace all that this lively lad has to offer. It has been a joy watching him experience the world, from new environments to new adventures, and with continued guidance and love, he is sure to make a truly rewarding companion for a very lucky family.
