Jenny is a shy little girl who has come to us from a breeder. She isn’t overly confident and won’t rush up for attention straight away, as she can still be unsure of new people and their intentions. However, she is a curious soul and really brightens up when she’s with other dogs, drawing comfort and confidence from their company.

She has recently moved to a foster home and is understandably a little nervous and unsettled with all the recent changes, and will need plenty of patience, time and TLC as she starts to feel safe and come out of her shell.

Jenny will be best suited to a calm, quiet, adult-only home with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and who can give her the gentle support she needs. A secure high-fenced garden will be essential. She is very reliant on other dogs for comfort and will need at least one other kind, confident resident dog in her new home to help guide and reassure her.

Having never lived in a home before moving to foster, she will need patient and understanding adopters who can gently guide her through the basics, including house training and learning all about walking on a lead and harness. Jenny has been on a few walks while at the rescue, but hasn’t been out on walks yet in her foster home and will begin by practising in the garden as she slowly builds confidence in her new environment.

At the moment she is being fed in her crate, which is her safe space, as she prefers not to eat in the presence of people or other dogs. She is becoming curious about human attention but isn’t quite brave enough to seek her fosterer out yet, although she will allow herself to be picked up.

With patience, kindness, and the reassurance of a canine companion, Jenny has so much potential to blossom into a devoted and loving friend. She is going to make such an amazing companion for someone who understands nervous dogs.

Jenny has been assessed by our vets who have noted right back leg crepitus. This means she has normal joint clicking, but it may need to be monitored for any future treatment she may require.

Jenny has a travel document.
