06-03-26 Spice is a sweet girl who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a fresh start. She has a very gentle nature and can be slightly timid at first, but after a few moments, she will cuddle in and happily sit as a lap dog.

She gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies on their company for comfort. She will need a kind resident dog in her new home to guide her and provide reassurance as she settles in and finds her confidence.

She can already walk on a lead and would enjoy one or two gentle walks around the local area with the resident dog once she is settled. She will also need some continued practice with house training as she settles but she should pick this up in no time.

Spice could share her home with dog-savvy children who understand that she will need a gentle, quiet introduction to her new home and her own space to feel safe. For her age, Spice is relatively quiet and not overly active at the moment, though this may change as her confidence grows.

Spice has arrived with infected ears and a cherry eye, so our vets will be taking a closer look to ensure she is feeling her best and ready to start her new life in a forever home. She will need her adopters to agree to have her spayed when she is of age, and to take her to plenty of socialization and training and classes to help her become a successful adult dog. Once she has settled in and gets a boost of confidence, she should come out of her shell in no time.
