Bowie
Bowie has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for his forever home. He is a sweet and affectionate boy who really enjoys a fuss and clearly loves human company, happily seeking out attention and affection from those around him.
Bowie is a playful and active lad who would thrive in a home where he can be kept both mentally and physically stimulated. He absolutely loves playing with a ball and will happily carry one around the yard, whether it’s a tennis ball or a football. He even enjoys the water and loves games like fishing toys out of the paddling pool. He's such a fun boy with an the most amazing personality!
He walks beautifully on the lead and has been enjoying regular outings with our volunteers, taking everything in his stride. He is not reactive when out and about and is a pleasure to walk. Bowie already knows commands such as “sit” and “paw,” and being very food motivated, he is eager to learn and would benefit from continued training.
Bowie is a confident boy who could be homed as an only dog, provided his adopters have plenty of time to spend with him. He is currently sharing a kennel and is doing well, although he can be a little sensitive if another dog is too much for him and would appreciate a calm and understanding environment.
As Bowie has never lived in a home before, he will need support with all the basics, including housetraining and settling into a home environment. However, he shows many positive signs, such as keeping his kennel clean and being very comfortable with handling, including bathing and drying.
Bowie could live with older, dog-savvy children who understand that he can sometimes become a little overenthusiastic during play and may accidentally mouth hands while playing with toys. This is purely excitement, and with guidance, he will continue to improve his manners.
Bowie is a truly wonderful boy, handsome, loving, and full of character. With the right balance of love, patience, and guidance, he will make a fantastic companion and bring so much joy to his forever home.
Our vets have noted that he has a lick granuloma on his leg, but this does not currently require any action. He is also receiving treatment for sore ears.
Bowie has a travel document.
Bowie has been given the Gift of Life by Anne Moore
