23-03-26 Lacey is a very sweet but worried girl who has come from a breeder and has had very little experience of the world or home life. She can feel overwhelmed and may freeze when approached, as she is still unsure of human intentions, but with gentle handling she does enjoy a soft fuss. Lacey hasn’t experienced a home environment before, so she will need patient and understanding adopters who can support her with everything from toilet training to learning how to walk on a lead, which will need to be introduced slowly and positively. Initially, she may benefit from spending time in a quiet, secure garden where she can explore at her own pace.

She takes great comfort from other dogs and depends on them for her confidence, so she will need a home with a kind and confident resident dog who can guide her and help her come out of her shell. While she is gentle in nature and has not shown any food guarding towards people, she can be bossy and show some guarding behaviours around food and treats with other dogs. Because of this, she will need owners who understand this behaviour and are able to manage it by feeding her separately from any resident dogs.

Lacey is a lovely girl with bags of potential who will need time, patience, and reassurance to truly flourish. In the right environment, with the support of a confident canine companion and experienced adopters, she has every chance to blossom into a happy and confident dog.

Lacey has also come to us with a small closed umbilical hernia, which has been repaired.

Lacey has a travel document.
