ANNA IS LOOKING FOR A HOME WITH HER BEST FRIEND FERGIE

10-04-25 Anna arrived in our care with her best friend Fergie after their beloved owner very sadly passed away. It’s clear that these two golden oldies have been deeply loved and cherished, and they are understandably feeling quite overwhelmed by the changes in their lives. We believe they have always lived together, so we will be searching for a very special home with a kind adopter willing to open their heart to both of them and help them enjoy their retirement years surrounded by love, comfort and security.

They have met other dogs nicely at the rescue and could potentially live alongside a calm resident dog, but they would be just as happy to be homed as a pair by themselves and soak up all the attention themselves. We would consider homing them with dog savvy older children/teenagers who are gentle and respectful of their space and would let them settle in at their own pace.

Anna is a worried little lady at the moment, which is completely understandable given everything she has been through. Despite this, we can already see what a sweet and gentle girl she is. She does like a gentle fuss, but will shy away at first until she gets to know you. She walks nicely on the lead and has been enjoying gentle potters along the country lanes and exploring our play yards at her own pace.

As Anna has previously lived in a home, we believe she may be house trained, although she may need a few reminders as she settles into her new routine. With patience, kindness and a loving environment, we are sure Anna will blossom and show just how special she truly is.

Anna is a little underweight at the moment and will need a good diet to build her back up. She has bilateral cataracts, which is expected for a dog of her age and also had a cyst on the back of her neck, which has been drained. During her health check up, our vets discovered that she has stage 1 chronic kidney disease, so she will need to follow a renal diet and her adopters and their vet will need to be willing to monitor this and be aware that anything relating to this would not be coverable by insurance.

Our vets believe that she is spayed, but we cannot be 100% sure of this and due to her age it wouldn't be fair on her to open her up to check and so her adopters will need to sign a disclaimer to say they understand this and will keep her away from any un-neutered male dogs as a precaution.

Can live with other dogs
