Fergie
FERGIE IS LOOKING FOR A HOME WITH HIS BEST FRIEND ANNA
10-04-25 Fergie arrived in our care with his best friend Anna after their beloved owner very sadly passed away. It’s clear that these two golden oldies have been deeply loved and cherished, and they are understandably feeling quite overwhelmed by the changes in their lives. We believe they have always lived together, so we will be searching for a very special home with a kind adopter willing to open their heart to both of them and help them enjoy their retirement years surrounded by love, comfort and security.
They have met other dogs nicely at the rescue and could potentially live alongside a calm resident dog, but they would be just as happy to be homed as a pair by themselves and soak up all the attention themselves. We would consider homing them with dog savvy older children/teenagers who are gentle and respectful of their space and would let them settle in at their own pace.
Fergie is understandably overwhelmed and confused to find himself here at the moment, but despite this he has already settled in well and his playful side is starting to emerge. He really enjoys fuss and attention and will even roll onto his back to ask for some tummy tickles too, he's such a sweet boy! He walks nicely on the lead and has been enjoying gentle walks along the country lanes and exploring our play yards.
As Fergie has previously lived in a home, we believe he may be house trained, although he may need a few reminders as he settles into his new routine. With patience, kindness and a loving environment, we are sure Fergie will blossom and show just how special he truly is.
Fergie is a little overweight at the moment, but with a good diet and some gentle exercise, he should soon shed the excess. He has had a dental by our vets, and has had 3 teeth removed. He can get a little panicked when visiting the vet and does need to be muzzled for vet visits, but is the sweetest little man the rest of the time, so please don't let this put you off.
Can live with other dogs
