18-04-26 Colin is a lovely boy who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. He seems to love humans and craves being with them, so is finding kennel life extremely difficult at the moment. Because of this, he has been going home at night with a staff member, where he was able to settle well, as long as he was not left alone. When left, even briefly, he became distressed and cried.

Colin will require an experienced, multi-person household that can support him with his separation anxiety. He will need a home where someone is around for the majority of the time, and where his new family are committed to helping him gradually build confidence and learn that it is safe to be left for short periods.

Colin could be homed as an only dog in the right circumstances, but he does love other dogs and would be very happy to share his home with another kind resident dog. Although he does get comfort from being with his canine friends, it's human companionship he really craves, though having another dog in the home may help him feel more settled as his adopters work on his separation anxiety.

As Colin has never lived in a home before, he will need guidance with learning all about house training and all the basics of home life. Patience, consistency, and reassurance will be key to helping him settle. He can already walk well on a lead, but in typical Colin style he does tend to prefer to be carried!

Colin is a sensitive and affectionate boy who clearly forms strong attachments. With the right understanding and support, he has the potential to become a deeply loyal and loving companion.

Colin has had a dental with us and has only a few teeth remaining.

He has a travel document.
