08-05-26 Alfie originally came to us from a breeder in 2021 and was lucky enough to find a home of his own. Sadly, he has now been returned to us as his family went on to have children and Alfie found the busy environment and young children a little overwhelming at times, and would occasionally pinch their toys, so it was felt that it was in his best interests to return to our care.

Alfie is a wonderful, happy and outgoing boy who has settled back in well and has gone straight to foster with a member of staff. He is now looking for a very special retirement home where he can truly relax and enjoy life as he should. He is a very affectionate boy who absolutely loves a cuddle on the sofa. He is a typical spaniel who LOVES his food and will do anything for a treat and enjoys munching on a carrot or two.

He could happily be homed as an only dog, where he could soak up all the love and attention, but he would also be happy to share his home with another kind, calm resident dog to keep him company. Alfie has lived with cats previously and is in a foster home with a cat, so he would be happy to live with a dog savvy cat again.

We feel Alfie would be best suited to a home where any children were gentle teenagers who can understand his needs and give him the space and kindness he deserves.

Alfie is house trained, although as with many dogs settling into a new environment, he may need a few reminders while he finds his paws again. He walks nicely on a lead and gets so excited to see his lead and go for walkies, so we think he will really enjoy going out on walks and adventures with his new family. He will happily plod for miles and enjoys meeting other dogs on walks and especially loves visiting the beach.

We are told that he is quite worried of brooms, fireworks and gunshot sounds, so will need reassurance with these things.

Alfie does have cataracts in both eyes, which will need to be monitored going forward, but this does not seem to bother him at the moment. He has had a well needed dental since he has arrived and has had 13 teeth removed.

We are hopeful that Alfie’s perfect forever home is out there waiting for him, where he can finally enjoy the stability, comfort and love he so deserves.
