11-05-26 Nelly has come to us from a breeder and is now searching for her forever home. She is a nervous girl who is understandably feeling quite overwhelmed by her new surroundings. When she first arrived she was very worried about being handled, but she has already begun to accept a gentle fuss, which is a lovely sign that, with love and TLC, she will continue to grow in confidence.

Nelly will be looking for a calm and quiet adult home where she can settle in at her own pace. She would benefit from adopters who have experience of ex-breeding dogs and who understand the patience and reassurance she will need as she learns to trust and feel safe.

She relies heavily on the company of other dogs and is much braver when she has a doggy friend by her side, so Nelly will need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home to take her under their wing and help guide her.

As Nelly has never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she settles in and learns all about home life and new skills like house training. She will also need to learn all about walking on a lead and harness, first practicing around the garden while she builds confidence.

With time, kindness and gentle encouragement, Nelly will blossom into the sweetest girl.

Nelly has some hormonal alopecia, which should grow back now she has been spayed. She also has an inguinal hernia, which will be repaired at the time of her spay.

Nelly has been given the Gift of Life by Jennifer ferns
