  • Human family requirements

I can live with older, dog-savvy teenagers, who allow me time to settle in.

  • Other pet requirements

I need another kind dog to be my friend and I have never met cats.

  • House and garden requirements

I would like a secure garden to spend time in.

  • Out and about requirements

I’ve never been on walks before and will need a gentle introduction.

  • Training needs

I have never lived in a home so I will need help to learn house training.

  • Medical issues

I am spayed and ready to find my forever home.

Nigella has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for a loving forever home. She is a gentle, sweet girl who is still finding her feet and learning that the world can be a safe place. Naturally, she can be a little nervous around new people and situations, but she is already making lovely progress and has a constantly waggy tail that perfectly reflects her kind nature.

When she first arrived, she was a worried little soul that was finding it hard to understand her new surroundings. Since arriving, she will happily accept gentle chin tickles and will now take treats carefully from our hands, showing that she is beginning to build trust with people. While she isn't quite confident enough to approach for lots of fuss just yet, she enjoys quiet interactions at her own pace and responds really well to calm, patient handling.

Nigella has also started learning to walk on a harness. She is taking things slowly, but she is making steady progress and becoming more confident with each new experience. Given time and encouragement, we have no doubt she will continue to blossom.

She absolutely adores other dogs and gains so much reassurance from their company, so she will need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide her and show her that life isn't so scary.

Nigella is looking for a calm, patient home where she can settle at her own pace. We would consider homing her with sensible, dog-savvy teenagers who understand that she may need time and space while she continues to grow in confidence.

As Nigella has never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to be prepared to teach her all about home life, including housetraining, walking on a lead and harness, and all the everyday experiences that most dogs take for granted.

With kindness, patience and understanding, Nigella is already showing just how much potential she has. She is a lovely little girl who is beginning to trust, and we can't wait to see her continue to flourish in a home of her own.

Nigella has been given the Gift of Life by Catherine Dunn
