I would like a secure garden to spend time in.

  • Out and about requirements

I am not ready to learn about walking on a lead and harness yet.

  • Training needs

I have never lived in a home so I will need help to learn house training.

  • Medical issues

I am spayed and ready to find my forever home.

03-06-26 Louise has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for a very special forever home. She is an extremely worried little girl who has had very little positive human socialisation and currently finds people and handling very frightening. At the moment, Louise feels safest keeping her distance and, if pushed beyond her comfort zone, may make the wrong decision and nip purely out of fear. She is a very scared girl who needs understanding, patience and time.

Louise will need a calm and quiet adult-only home with no visiting children, and adopters who have experience of helping fearful ex-breeding dogs learn to trust. She relies heavily on the comfort and reassurance of other dogs and will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home who can take her under their wing.

Although Louise takes great comfort from other dogs, she can show signs of resource guarding around food. For this reason, she will need to be fed separately from other dogs, and care will need to be taken when giving treats or other high-value food items. Her adopters will need experience of managing this behaviour and the confidence to do so appropriately.

Having never lived in a home before, Louise has lots to learn. Her adopters will need to be patient and understanding as she adjusts to home life and learns new skills such as house training. She is not yet ready to begin learning about lead walking or wearing a harness, as handling is still very worrying for her. These things will need to be introduced gradually and at her pace once she feels more comfortable and secure.

Louise is a sensitive soul who will need a dedicated home willing to invest time, patience and understanding into helping her build confidence. We will continue to work with her every day, helping her take small steps forward at a pace she is comfortable with. In the right home, with the support of canine friends and experienced adopters, we hope Louise will slowly learn that people can be kind and that life has so much to offer.

Louise has a travel document.
