Lilac has come to us from a breeder and is a very sweet girl who is trying her hardest to be brave, but she is not quite confident enough to fully understand the world around her just yet.

When Lilac first arrived, she was understandably unsure of so many new experiences, but in just a short space of time she has made such lovely progress. There is now a real sparkle in her eyes that seems to grow brighter every day. She is so much perkier, always happy, and has even started to show a cheeky, mischievous little side that has completely stolen our hearts. She has settled beautifully into her daily routine and is an absolute pleasure to care for.

Although Lilac was initially quite touch-sensitive when being picked up, she has become much more comfortable with gentle handling and now takes it all in her stride. She recently enjoyed a pamper session in our grooming room, where she happily stood to have her beautiful coat brushed and a few little matts clipped away, taking the whole experience in her stride. It is so rewarding to watch her confidence continue to grow.

Lilac has also recently started her harness training. Whilst she is still a little too timid to head off on walks just yet, she has made a wonderful start and is already becoming more comfortable wearing her harness. With a little more time and gentle encouragement, we are confident she will soon be ready to begin exploring the world beyond the rescue.

Lilac would benefit from a home with experience of ex-breeding dogs and will need an adult-only household that can provide the compassion and reassurance she deserves. Having never lived in a home before, she will need kind adopters who can gently teach her about house training, household routines, and continue her lead walking journey at a pace she feels comfortable with.

The outside world may still feel overwhelming for Lilac initially, so spending time exploring a secure garden and enjoying gentle sniffing sessions would be a wonderful way to help her gain confidence before venturing further afield.

She will need a patient and understanding home, as well as at least one kind and confident resident dog that she can look to for reassurance as she settles into family life. We have also discovered that Lilac is not comfortable around cats and can become quite worried and excitable when she sees them, so she will need a cat-free home.

Lilac is a lovely older lady who deserves nothing more than comfort, happiness, and security in her golden years. She has blossomed into the sweetest, most angelic little soul and is becoming more affectionate with every passing day. Watching her confidence grow has been an absolute privilege, and we know that in a loving home, with plenty of patience and understanding, she will continue to flourish. She has already waited far too long for the life she deserves, and we cannot wait to see her finally find the family who will love her forever.

Lilac has arrived with a Grade 2 luxating patella that may improve with time as her muscles get stronger, but her adopters will need to be mindful of this as it will not be covered by insurance. She has also been treated for conjunctivitis and had 3 teeth extracted.

Lilac has a travel document.
