Heidi has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for a very special forever home where she can begin the next chapter of her life. When she arrived at the rescue, she was a very scared little girl who was feeling quite overwhelmed. She is clearly not used to being handled and finds human interaction very worrying. If you move slowly and gently, she will accept being picked up and handled, she simply needs time to learn that people can be kind.

Heidi has recently moved to a wonderful foster home, where she has started to experience home life for the first time ever. She spent her first few days feeling very unsure and choosing to hide in her safe space but has since started to explore the home more and now will even choose to sit at her fosterers feet when she's working on lay on the bed next to the sofa when she's on the sofa, showing that she is already making encouraging progress.

Heidi will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with patient adopters who understand the needs of scared ex-breeding dogs. She will need plenty of time, reassurance and TLC as she gradually settles in, builds trust and starts to discover the world around her. Progress may be slow, but watching her confidence grow will be incredibly rewarding.

She takes great comfort from the company of other dogs and will need at least one other kind, confident resident dog in her new home. Having a canine friend by her side will help her feel secure and show her that life in a loving home isn't so scary after all.

As Heidi had never lived in a home before moving to foster, her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she learns all about home life and new skills like house training. She will also need to learn how to walk on a lead and harness, beginning in the safety of the home and garden before gradually building up the confidence to explore further afield.

Heidi is looking for a home that will accept her exactly as she is and give her all the time she needs to blossom. In the right home and with lots of love and TLC, she will thrive.
