Periwinkle is a gorgeous lady who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. She is a coy but kind little lady who is still finding her feet and building her confidence. Since arriving with us, Periwinkle has made lovely progress. She now allows us to handle her with ease and is beginning to enjoy gentle fuss and attention, often rewarding us with sweet little kisses on our hands. She is growing braver every day and is becoming more confident with the people she knows. Periwinkle has also started her harness training and is making fantastic progress. Beneath her worries is a truly lovely little girl who is slowly learning that people can be trusted.

Periwinkle gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies on their company for comfort, so she will need a kind resident dog in her new home to help guide her and give her the reassurance she needs as she settles in and finds her paws.

As Periwinkle has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, lead training, and the other basics of home life. However, she has already shown us how willing she is to learn, and her progress with handling and harness training gives us every confidence that she will continue to flourish with patient and understanding adopters.

She will need an adult-only home that can understand she may take a little time to settle in and build trust. Although she has grown in confidence during her stay with us, it is important that her adopters allow her to adjust at her own pace, as she may initially find the transition into home life a little overwhelming. A calm and predictable environment will help her feel safe and allow her confidence to continue growing.

Periwinkle has arrived with a Grade 2 patella luxation. At present, the joint and surrounding muscles appear stable, and she is able to walk and run comfortably without any difficulties. This is something that her adopters and their vet will need to monitor but may improve with gentle exercise as she builds muscle.

Periwinkle loves playing with her kennel friends and enjoys their company, often looking to them for reassurance. Although she can still be a little unsure at times, she is blossoming into a wonderful little dog and has been an absolute angel during her time with us. We know that with time, patience, and the support of a canine companion, Periwinkle will continue to grow in confidence and show even more of her lovely personality.
