  • Human family requirements

I can live with calm, older teens, aged 16+ who allow me time to settle in.

  • Other pet requirements

I need a doggy friend in my new home. I haven’t met cats so I’m unsure.

  • House and garden requirements

I'd like a secure garden of at least 6ft to exercise in.

  • Out and about requirements

I haven't tried walks yet, a secure garden will be fine for now.

  • Training needs

I have lived in a home but I need to learn to walk on a lead.

  • Medical issues

I have been spayed and I’m ready for my new home!

06-07-26 Elana is a nervous lady who has come into our care from a breeder. Although she came from a breeder, she has never been used for breeding and has never had any litters. We have been told she was born at the breeder's with a naturally small tail, which is why she was never bred from.

Elana is a lovely girl who just needs people to be patient with her. She can be very wary when meeting new people, so it's important to let her take things at her own pace. Once she feels comfortable, she is happy to accept a gentle fuss and begins to relax.

She absolutely loves other dogs and really enjoys playing with them. Elana has spent her life living in a rural setting, mostly off lead, and has had very little experience of people outside of those she already knew. Because of this, strangers can be quite worrying for her.

Although she was not used to breed, she will need adopters who have experience with ex-breeders and understand the background she has come from. Elana will need another kind and confident dog in the home, and this dog will be a much-needed support system as she settles into family life and continues to build her confidence. She can live with older, dog-savvy teens, aged 16+ that will provide her with a calm home.

Elana has lived in a home before, so she will be familiar with the sights and sounds of a home environment. However, she may still need some help with house training and lead walking as she adjusts to her new home and routine. She will need an extra secure garden, of at least 6ft to help keep her safe.

Elana is a sweet girl who enjoys the company of other dogs and is looking for a patient family who will let her settle in at her own pace. With time, understanding, and a confident canine friend by her side, we hope she will continue to grow in confidence and enjoy all that her new life has to offer.
