Wren has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. Although she has come from a breeder, we are told that she has never had any puppies. Instead, she has spent her whole life living in the rural countryside alongside other poodles, where she was used to being off lead and had very little experience of meeting new people. Because of this, she is going to need time to adjust to home life and all the new experiences that come with it.

Wren is looking for a calm and quiet home with patient adopters who have experience with worried dogs and who will allow her to settle in at her own pace. She will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog to take her under their wing and help her adjust to her new life.

She recently moved to a wonderful foster home where she is now getting to experience home life for the very first time. It has quickly become clear that Wren has never lived in a home before, so everything indoors is completely new to her. At the moment she finds being inside very overwhelming and will often choose to spend her time outside in the garden, where she feels much more comfortable.

Out in the fields, however, Wren is a completely different dog. She comes to life as she happily explores, sniffs, runs around and enjoys the freedom she has always known. She looks relaxed and simply loves being a dog. Watching her in this environment, you can see just how happy she is. Stepping back into the home is much harder for her. The sights, sounds and feeling of being indoors are all unfamiliar, and she can become worried and unsure. She is slowly learning that a home is a safe place to be and at the moment her crate is her safe space where she can quietly watch the world from a safe distance.

Wren is a very gentle, kind girl who takes great comfort from people she trusts and has been a pleasure to care for. She gets on beautifully with the other dogs in her foster home, enjoying playing with the younger dogs while being calm and gentle with the smaller ones. She is also learning to walk on a harness and is making lovely progress.

As Wren has never lived in a home before moving into foster, her adopters will need to be kind, patient and understanding while she learns all about home life. Although she has been clean in her foster home, she is likely to need continued support with learning housetraining as she settles into her new routine and forever home. Wren will need a secure garden with 6ft+ fences, to ensure she is kept safe.

Wren is a truly special girl who, with time, patience and understanding, will blossom into a wonderful companion.
