06-07-26 Tippins is a lovely lady who has come into our care from a breeder. She can be a little apprehensive when she first meets new people and may bark at strangers, but it really doesn't take her long to let her guard down. Once she decides that you're one of her people, she becomes your best friend, your shadow and your snuggle buddy, and you quickly become her whole world. Tippins absolutely adores the people she loves and gives her whole heart to them. She is a ridiculously affectionate girl with so much love to give.

Tippins has a big personality and is such a fun girl to spend time with. While she can initially present as a nervous girl, she has shown us that underneath that uncertainty is a very loving and affectionate dog who simply needs a little time to get to know you. Her future adopters will need to understand that she may be standoffish at first and allow her the time and space she needs to build a bond with them. Once she trusts you, however, she is likely to want to be right by your side as much as possible.

Tippins has made fantastic progress with her harness training and now walks beautifully right by her handler's side. She can still feel nervous in busy places and around traffic, so her adopters will need to continue building her confidence gradually. We would recommend practising in the garden initially and establishing a strong bond with her before venturing out into busier environments. Quiet walks with plenty of reassurance will help her learn that the outside world isn't something to worry about.

Although Tippins has previously enjoyed the company of bigger dogs, we now feel she could potentially be rehomed as an only dog in the right home. She doesn't appear to rely on other dogs for comfort and often chooses to stay close to the people she knows and loves. Her adopters should still be mindful that she may need some time to feel comfortable around them initially, but once that bond is established, she is likely to want nothing more than to be with her people.

As Tippins has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to be patient and understanding as she discovers what being a much-loved pet is all about. We would consider homing her with older, dog-savvy teenagers aged 16 and over who can respect her need for a gentle introduction and allow her time to settle.

Although Tippins hasn't experienced home life before, we have a feeling she is going to be a firm believer in the importance of sofa snuggles! Her adopters should be prepared to welcome her onto the furniture with open arms, as being close to her people is clearly where this affectionate girl is happiest.

Tippins is a truly special little lady who has shown us just how much love she has to give. Once she trusts you, she gives you her entire heart, and we know that the lucky person who earns that trust will have an incredibly devoted and affectionate companion by their side.

Tippins is receiving regular ear cleanings from our vets for waxy ears, which will need to continue to be monitored in her new home.
