17-07-26 Dottie is a sweet little lady who has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for a loving forever home. She is worried and overwhelmed to find herself here, but despite this she has a gentle, affectionate nature and will happily come over for a fuss. She is especially fond of crawling onto your lap for a snuggle! She is an absolute heart stealer and everyone she meets quickly falls in love with her.

Although she is still a shy and worried girl, Dottie is growing in confidence daily and is really starting to come out of her shell. It has been lovely to watch her personality blossom, and we know she has so much more to give once she's settled into home life. We think she is going to absolutely adore being someones special girl.

She will be looking for a calm and loving home where she can settle in at her own pace. She loves other dogs and would be more than happy to share her home with another kind resident dog who would be her best friend. She does also bond quite quickly with humans, so in the right circumstances, with adopters who are around most of the time and have experience with worried dogs, we would consider homing her as an only dog. Dottie could live with gentle, dog-savvy teenagers who understand that she may need a little time to settle into her new surroundings.

As she has never lived in a home before, Dottie will need patient and understanding adopters as she settles in to home life and learns all about new skills like house training. She is already learning to walk on a lead and harness and with some gentle encouragement she is starting to pick this up well.

Our vets have noted that she has Grade 3 luxating patella in her right hind leg and Grade 2 luxating patella in her left hind leg. She gets around well and our vets feel that this may improve with gentle exercise and as she builds up muscle tone, but it is something her adopter and their vet will need to monitor. She also has a Grade 1 heart murmur, which doesn't require medication but will also need to be monitored by her adopter and their vet.

Dottie has a travel document.
