Disco is a sweet girl who has come into our care from a breeder. She really enjoys the company of other dogs and loves playing with her kennel friends and takes a lot of comfort from being around them. Disco is easy to handle and will happily approach us, although she is still a little timid while she gets to know people. Although she looks very Maltese she is a bigger girl at 9.2kg.

Disco is making some lovely progress during her time with us. She will happily sit beside her kennel mammies and give them lots of kisses, and she is becoming increasingly comfortable enjoying fuss and cuddles with them too. It is wonderful to see her growing in confidence and learning that she can enjoy being close to people. She is showing us more of her sweet personality as she becomes more comfortable.

Disco is also doing really well with her harness and is now walking nicely on it, which is another lovely step forward for her. We hope she will continue to build on this as she becomes more confident.

She will be looking for a calm and quiet home, where she can settle in at her own pace and learn all about life as a cherished family member. We would consider homing her with gentle, dog-savvy teenagers.

Disco gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies on their company for comfort, so she will need a kind resident dog in her new home to help guide her and give her the reassurance she needs as she settles in and finds her paws.

As Disco has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, walking on a lead and harness, and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to be patient and allow her to settle at her own pace.

Disco is a gentle girl with a playful side that shines through when she's with her doggy friends. She is making some lovely progress with us and we hope that, with a patient family and a kind canine companion, she will continue to grow in confidence and discover just how lovely life in a home can be.

Disco has received treatment for conjunctivitis and has had one tooth extracted at the time of her spay. She has had a cyst drained from the top of her head, which our vets will continue to monitor. She also came to us with a fluid-filled swelling on the side of her neck/chest area, which our vets diagnosed as a sialocele. This occurs when a salivary gland becomes damaged, allowing saliva to leak into the surrounding tissue, where it collects and forms a soft, usually painless, pocket of fluid. Our vets have drained this, however, it is likely to gradually refill over the coming weeks or months and would need to be drained again if this happens. The only permanent treatment is surgery to remove the affected salivary gland, which would need to be carried out by a specialist. Disco's adopters would need to be aware that any vet treatment surrounding this would not be coverable by insurance as it's pre-existing..
