Jonah is a very nervous boy who has come to us from a breeder and is in need of lots of kindness and TLC. When he first arrived with us, he was very overwhelmed and was extremely worried about being handled. He required gentle handling and a slow and gentle approach as if pushed out of his comfort zone he may have panicked and chosen to make the wrong decision purely out of fear. However, since then he has started to settle in so well and is becoming such a brave little boy. He will now come you greet you and see if you have any tasty treats for him and will even enjoy a gentle tickle once he gets to know you.

He will now happily greet his kennel mummy in the morning with a big waggy tail and offers her lots and lots of kisses and will even allow her to gently fuss him. The progress he's making is truly wonderful and it's allowing us to see glimpses of the real him and we think he will absolutely thrive in the right home. He loves toys and food which has been a big help in building a bond with him and earning his trust.

Jonah will be best suited to a calm and quiet, adult only home with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and who will allow him to settle in at his own pace without any expectations.

He absolutely loves his kennel friends and can often be found snuggled up in bed with them and clearly gets comfort and reassurance from their company. He also loves to play with his friends, which is just so lovely to see. It is essential that Jonah has at least one kind, confident resident dog in his new home. A canine companion will help him feel secure and give him someone to look to as he gains confidence and begins to embrace home life.

He has never lived in a home before so his adopters will need to be kind and understanding as he settles in to his new life and learns all about home life and new skills like house training. At the moment, he is so worried that learning to walk on a lead is likely to take time, and initially, spending time exploring a secure garden and building his confidence may be the best place to start. He has started learning all about wearing a harness to get used to the feel of this on his body and the next steps will be to introduce a lead.

Jonah is an incredibly sensitive soul who simply hasn't had the chance to experience the love and security every dog deserves. With patience, understanding, and a family willing to let him progress at his own pace, we believe he has every chance of learning to trust and becoming a wonderfully loyal companion.

Jonah has arrived to us extremely underweight, with some hair loss and what seems to be old cuts on his ears as well as some dermatitis, which is being treated. This boy needs plenty of TLC as he continues to grow.
