  • Human family requirements

I need a calm and quiet, adult only home where I can settle in at my own pace.

  • Other pet requirements

I need a resident dog to help me settle in and I have never met cats.

  • House and garden requirements

I would like a secure garden to spend time in.

  • Out and about requirements

I have learned how to walk on a lead and am enjoying going for walks.

  • Training needs

I am in a foster home now so am learning all about home life and house training.

  • Medical issues

I have had 7 teeth extracted at the time of my spay.

Juice came to us from a breeder and when she first arrived, she was understandably very shy and overwhelmed by everything around her. She wanted to trust people but was nervous about approaching, often hovering nearby and watching with interest before her worries got the better of her. She has since moved into foster and has made some lovely progress and is settling in well. Juice is still cautious, but she now follows her fosterers around the house and will approach for fuss when they offer their hand to her. She particularly loves belly rubs and will completely relax and close her eyes!

Juice will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and who will allow her to settle in at her own pace. She will need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home who can take her under their wing and help her settle into her new home. Although she does rely on other dogs for comfort, she can guard her bed from other dogs, particularly when she has just woken up, so she will need a calm, relaxed resident dog who will not disturb her while she is sleeping. She can also be startled by people when she is in her bed and on one occasion she did nip her fosterer when they stroked her in her bed. Her new family will therefore need to be confident managing this behaviour, recognising her body language and ensuring she is always left undisturbed when she is resting.

Juice had never lived in a home before moving to foster, but she is already settling in wonderfully. Her toilet training is going really well and she has only had 2 accidents in the home so far. She has also learned all about walking on a lead and harness and is now becoming more confident wearing her harness and she is starting to enjoy her walks. She is also beginning to understand that the home is a safe place, happily relaxing and sleeping near her fosterers and enjoying the company of their resident dog.

Juice will be looking for an adult-only home with experienced adopters who understand that she is still learning to trust and who will allow her to continue building her confidence at her own pace. She has already come such a long way in a short time, and we hope that with the right family, she will continue to blossom into a happy and loving companion.
