Sybil
11-07-26 Sybil is a young puppy who has come to us from a home after her family found they were struggling to cope with her. She is an incredibly bright, fun loving girl with so much potential, and we have no doubt that in the right home she is going to absolutely thrive.
Sybil is a very clever, high energy puppy who we feel missed out on some important socialisation as a young puppy. Combined with her intelligence and enthusiasm for life, this has resulted in a puppy who can become very overexcited and doesn't always know the appropriate way to channel her excitement. In her previous home she would often chase the children and nip their ankles as well as become very mouthy during play. She is now looking for a home that can provide kind, consistent guidance and help her learn the skills she needs to grow into a well-rounded adult dog.
She isn't suited for a first time dog own and will be looking for adopters who understand the needs of busy, intelligent puppies and are committed to positive reward-based training with clear, consistent boundaries. Sybil loves to play but can become so excited that she directs her mouth towards whatever is closest. Her new family will need to be proactive in redirecting her onto suitable toys, making them exciting and rewarding so she learns what is appropriate to chew and play with.
Sybil will need a home with adopters who have experience of energetic breeds and who are prepared to provide her with plenty of mental stimulation. Once she's old enough she will also need plenty of exercise too. At the moment we would only consider homing her with teenagers aged 16+.
Sybil is already showing us just how clever she is. She already knows "sit" and has begun learning both "touch" and "lay down", picking things up very quickly. Once she's had the chance to burn off some energy, she enjoys settling down for cuddles and shows what a sweet, affectionate girl she really is.
She is confident enough that she could happily be an only dog, provided she has plenty of company. She could also live with another friendly dog as long as they would be happy to tolerate a cheeky, bouncy puppy wanting to play and chase them around!
For someone willing to invest the time and training she deserves, Sybil is going to make an incredibly rewarding companion. She is full of character, eager to learn and has all the ingredients to become an amazing dog with the right guidance.
Sybil will need to attend puppy socialisation classes and her adopters will also need to agree to have her spayed at the appropriate age, as outlined in our adoption agreement.
