  • Human family requirements

I can live with older, dog savvy teenagers, aged 13+ who respect my space.

  • Other pet requirements

I need a resident dog to help me settle in and I have never met cats.

  • House and garden requirements

I will need a secure garden while I get used to my new home.

  • Out and about requirements

I am new to lead walking, and would like to continue this once I have settled in.

  • Training needs

I have never lived in a home so I will need help to learn house training.

  • Medical issues

I have Grade 3 bilateral luxating patellas.

Iggy is a scared little lady who has come to us from a breeder. She has now been with us for almost two months and, although she has made some lovely progress, she has had very little interest so far.

Iggy's biggest fear is being touched. When someone reaches for her, she can crouch down and tremble with fear, but she is slowly learning that people can be kind and that she is safe. She is beginning to show more interest in people and, by watching the other dogs around her, has started running towards her carers' hands and giving them a little boop! She has also started taking treats, which is a huge step forward for this very special girl.

Iggy takes great comfort from her kennel friends and will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help her build confidence, learn to trust and discover the joys of home life. She absolutely loves being out in the yard with her friends and enjoys nothing more than rolling around in the sunshine.

As Iggy has never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to be patient while she learns about house training and settles into a new routine. She is still new to lead walking and will need continued, gentle encouragement as she learns. She will need adopters with experience of ex-breeding dogs who understand how frightened she can be and are prepared to give her plenty of time and patience.

Iggy can live with older, dog-savvy teenagers aged 13+ who are sensible and able to allow her to settle at her own pace.

Iggy has been assessed by our vets and has Grade 3 bilateral luxating patellas. These are not causing her any issues at present and may improve with gentle exercise as she builds muscle. They will need to be monitored by her adopters and their vet, and they should be aware that any future treatment relating to her luxating patellas will not be covered by insurance.

Iggy is a wonderful girl who has already shown us that, with the right canine companion and plenty of patience, she can take those important little steps forward. We hope the right family will give her the chance to continue blossoming and discover how lovely life can be.

Iggy has a travel document.
