Candy is a very sweet and affectionate lady who has come to us from a breeder and is now searching for her forever home. She absolutely adores attention and cuddles and, once she gets to know you, it doesn't take her long to show just how loving she really is. Candy simply wants to be close to her people and has completely stolen the hearts of everyone she has met. She has blossomed into the most loving girl and will make a wonderful companion and is sure to become the ultimate cuddle bug in the home.

Candy has built a lovely bond with the staff member who has worked closely with her since she first arrived. She truly trusts her and has come on so much since arriving with us. Candy has such a sweet nature and it is clear how much she enjoys spending time with people she knows and trusts.

Her lead walking has improved so much too. She is now walking much better and really enjoys her outings, although her adopters will need to continue working on her lead manners so she can enjoy plenty of adventures.

Candy mixes well with polite, well mannered dogs however she can sometimes be a little selective with choosing her friends. She doesn’t appreciate when dogs are over the top but when she does make a new friend her own play style can be quite full on! She comes away when called so we are always able to calm her down for a tasty treat. Because of her size and excitable nature, she would not be able to live with smaller breeds of dogs in the home and will need a home without cats.

As Candy is a very large lady, it is important that her adopters have experience with a similar breed and understand her needs. We have found that she can be particularly worried by formal handling, such as veterinary examinations, and finds these situations quite stressful. We will be muzzle training Candy so that she can be safely and comfortably handled for occasions such as vet visits. She recently needed to visit the vet due to sore ears and, although she found having her ears examined uncomfortable, she coped very well with the support of people she knows and trusts. She did also need to visit the vet for a check up on a day when her regular person wasn't around and found it much harder to cope with and became extremely stressed and agitated. She takes so much comfort from her known and trusted people.

Candy would be best suited to an adult-only home where her adopters can give her the time and space she needs to build trust and settle in.

Candy has arrived with a scab on the right side of her face that will be addressed during the time of her spay.

Candy has come such a long way since arriving with us and is now so ready for a loving home of her own. She is an absolute angel and a true credit to her breed, with so much love and affection to give. She truly deserves someone who will give her the love, patience and happiness she deserves.

Candy has a travel document.

Candy will need more than one meet and greet with her prospective adopters to allow her time to build a bond and feel comfortable with them before being adopted.
