Moxy is a very worried little girl who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. When she first arrived, she was incredibly overwhelmed and would hide away at the back of her kennel, not wanting anyone to come near her. However, once she gets to know you and learns that she can trust you, we are seeing a completely different side to this special girl.

When one of our team first started working with Moxy, she was so worried that she wouldn't leave the back of her kennel and had to be carried to and from the yard. But by the second day, she ran straight to the yard when her kennel door opened and, once her handler joined her, she was jumping all over them, giving kisses and genuinely thrilled to see them. This was an incredible change to see from such a nervous girl, and over the past couple of weeks, the bond between them has continued to grow.

Moxy now shows an incredible amount of affection and confidence with the people she trusts. However, around new people, she can still revert back to shutting down and hiding away. This is why it is so important that her new family understands that Moxy needs to be shown that she can trust you and that building a relationship with her will take time. The wonderful side of Moxy is there, but it is something you will need to earn rather than something she will immediately show you.

Moxy will need a calm and quiet home with adopters who have experience with ex-breeding dogs and understand that she will need plenty of time to settle in at her own pace. She will need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home to take her under their wing and help her learn how wonderful her life can be now. We would consider homing her with old, dog-savvy teenagers.

Moxy has never lived in a home before, so everything will be new to her. Her new family will need to be kind and understanding as she learns all about home life, including new skills like house training and walking on a lead. She will need gentle encouragement and plenty of patience as she continues to build her confidence.

Moxy arrived with slightly sore eyes, and our vet has noted that her lower eyelid is irregular but doesn't feel this is causing her any issues at the moment. This will need to be monitored moving forwards. Although she can see, her vision isn't the best, but she doesn't let this slow her down and gets around well. She also arrived with sore skin and old concrete sores, which we hope will continue to improve.

Moxy is a truly special little girl who has come such a long way already. You may not see the affectionate, happy and playful side of Moxy if you meet her during a show around our kennels, or even if you are simply let into her kennel to socialise her. That side of her comes when she has learnt that she can trust you, and it is something her new family will get to discover as their bond grows.

Moxy has so much love to give, and we would love to see someone take a chance on this incredible girl. We have no doubt that, with the right person, she will continue to blossom and show just how wonderful she really is.
