10-10-26 Tammy is a very sweet little lady who had come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. When she first arrived with us she was a very worried girl although she was very inquisitive and was trying her hardest to be brave. Since then she has started to settle in and come out of her shell and is now feeling brave enough to approach you and accept a little fuss. Once she gets to know you, she gets really excited to see you and becomes more affectionate, so we think in a home she will really start to flourish.

Tammy will be looking for a calm and quiet home, with adopters who will allow her to settle in at her own pace. She would love to find adopters who are around most of the time and have plenty of time to spend with her. We would consider homing her with dog savvy teenagers 16+.

Tammy loves to cuddle up in a bed with her kennel friends and has been so good with all of the dogs she has met and shared her kennel with. She does rely on other dogs for comfort so will need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home to be her friend and to help her adjust to her new life. She does need to be fed separately from other dogs as she doesn't want to share her food with others and so she will need adopters who are willing to manage this.

Tammy has never lived in a home before, so her adopters will need to be kind and patient as she learns all about home life and new skills like house training. She has learned to walk on a lead and harness and prefers to go for a gentle stroll where she can sniff to her hearts content.

Tammy is a sweet girl and we think with lots of love and TLC she is going to truly blossom into the most wonderful little friend.

When Tammy arrived with us, she was experiencing some urinary issues, including unusually dilute urine and drinking and urinating more than usual. She has been monitored by our vets and had some blood tests to rule out any underlying causes. She was treated with antibiotics for a suspected urinary infection and the issues appear to have resolved. She will need to be monitored in the future by her adopters and their vet, as she may be more prone to urinary problems, which would not be covered by insurance. She also arrived with an ear infection which has since been treated.
