28-08-26 Tally has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for her forever home. She is a very scared girl who is feeling quite overwhelmed at the moment and is very worried about being handled. It is clear that she hasn't had much handling or socialisation in her life so far, and she will need lots of patience, kindness and TLC as she begins to learn that people can be trusted.

Tally will be looking for a calm and quiet home with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and who understand that she will need time to settle in at her own pace. She will need people who are prepared to take things very slowly and allow her confidence to develop without putting any pressure on her. We would consider homing her with teenagers 16+.

At the moment, Tally is very worried about being handled, but if you go very slowly and gently, she is okay to be picked up.

Tally will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to take her under their wing. She will take great comfort from having a canine friend by her side, and we hope that a confident dog will help her feel safe and show her that life isn't so frightening after all. She does need to be fed separately from other dogs as she doesn't want to share her food with others and so she will need adopters who are willing to manage this.

Tally has never lived in a home before, so everything will be new to her. She will need kindness and understanding as she learns about home life and begins working on her house training. She doesn't walk on a lead just yet and her adopters will need to continue building her trust around handling before expecting her to wear a harness. Once she is more comfortable with this, she can begin practising walking on a lead in the safety of the garden. This will all be a gradual process, and her new family will need to be patient as she learns these important new skills.

Tally is going to need a very special home, but we believe that with experienced adopters, a lovely canine companion and lots of time and patience, this frightened little girl can slowly learn to trust and enjoy her new life.

When she arrived, she had an old wound on her right shoulder, but this is healing well.
