11-10-26 Jane is a sweet girl who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. She is feeling quite overwhelmed to find herself here at the moment and when you enter her kennel she will hide away in her bed, though if you do approach her she will let you handle her but is very worried about this. Once you leave her kennel, she will come up the front of it and will gently sniff you. She will need lots of love and TLC as she starts to come out of her shell.

Jane will be looking for a calm and quiet home with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and who will allow her to settle in at her own pace. We would consider homing her with dog savvy teenagers aged 16+.

She relies on other dogs for comfort and reassurance and so she will need a home where there is at least one other kind and confident resident dog to be her friend and take her under their wing. Having another confident dog to copy will help her settle into home life and will be really beneficial in helping grow her confidence.

As Jane has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to give her plenty of patience and encouragement while she gets used to everything that is new to her. She doesn't yet walk on a lead and will need to practice, first around the home and garden until she gains enough confidence to venture further.

Jane has arrived with mastitis and is currently receiving treatment with us. We will continue to monitor her closely to make sure she is comfortable and receiving the care she needs.

Jane is a gentle little girl who is already showing us small signs that she wants to be brave, and we hope that with the support of a confident canine companion and a kind, patient family, she will gradually gain confidence and enjoy the happy new start she deserves.
