Clover, A Little Star Ready to Shine

Clover is a beautiful 2-year-old Cocker Spaniel who is looking for a special home to call her own. Clover originally came to us from a home due to guarding issues with food. She was briefly adopted but sadly returned when she showed more extreme guarding behaviours in the home.

However, thanks to the love and support of her dedicated foster mum, Clover has truly blossomed. She is currently thriving in an experienced foster home and has made wonderful progress. Clover now shows that, with the right guidance and structure, she can be a truly delightful and loyal companion.

Clover loves the company of other dogs and would enjoy living alongside a calm and friendly resident dog, although she could also be happy as an only dog with plenty of social opportunities. She is very gentle when taking treats, can walk beautifully to heel when asked, and happily sits and waits for her meals. She has even learned to swap toys and items for treats, showing just how willing and adaptable she is when given the chance.

While she still enjoys her toys, her play is structured to avoid any feelings of worry or guarding. Clover knows to take herself off to her bed when she wants some quiet time and importantly, she does not guard her bed in foster.

Clover is house trained, comfortable being left for 4–6 hours, but does not enjoy being crated, so a home where she has freedom and structure without a crate will suit her best. She is not allowed on furniture in her foster home, which helps maintain clear and positive boundaries for her.

Although Clover needed a lot of understanding early on, she has proven that with experienced owners who are confident setting gentle but firm boundaries, she can thrive. For this reason, we are looking for an adult-only home, with no children, where her needs will continue to be respected.

Clover is a sweet, playful girl with a sensitive heart. She loves affection and will happily lie down on command when asked. She is ready to start her next chapter with a family who will celebrate her progress and continue to help her feel safe, secure, and loved.

If you have experience with resource guarding and a heart full of patience and kindness, Clover could be the perfect companion you have been waiting for.
