Aloe
Aloe is a very sweet but nervous girl who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. Her past has not been kind to her, she was used for breeding until she was no longer needed, and sadly she has faced some very tough challenges. Aloe has lost her left back leg after an altercation, both of her eyes due to severe ulcers, and she also has an undershot jaw and has had dental work with 11 teeth removed. She is recovering bravely and, day by day, is learning to adapt.
When Aloe first arrived, she found the world overwhelming and preferred to stay snuggled in her bed with her kennel friends for comfort.
She had never lived in a home before moving to her foster home, but she is learning so well. In her foster home, she is slowly coming out of her shell. She feels safe in her bed, loves her food, and enjoys gentle games that encourage her to explore. Despite being blind, she likes to potter in the garden on a sunny day, and she absolutely loves cuddles on a kind lap.
She has been clean indoors, going outside for the toilet, and she is starting to get used to wearing a harness, though walking on a lead will need time and patience. Aloe responds to the name Alley and is praised often for being such a good girl.
She will need a calm, quiet home with adopters who are around for much of the day and can help her adjust to her surroundings. She would like at least one gentle and patient resident dog who she can cuddle up with and who won’t mind if she bumps into them or climbs onto them for comfort. Aloe has lived with cats before losing her sight and was never bothered by them.
With love, time, and understanding, Aloe will blossom into the most loyal and affectionate little companion. She has her travel documents and is now ready to begin her new life.
