Ashley
Ashley has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. When she first arrived, she was a very worried little girl, unsure of people and all the new experiences around her. With time, she has started to show her sweet personality and is slowly learning to trust. She now does a happy dance when it’s dinnertime or when someone she knows comes to see her, and she will come over for a gentle sniff even if she isn’t quite ready for fuss just yet.
Ashley is very easy to care for, she accepts her harness being put on without a fuss and shares beds, food, and treats beautifully with her kennel friends. She gets along with dogs of all sizes and energy levels as long as they are respectful of her space, though she will politely let them know if they are being a little too much for her. She will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to be her friend and help her settle in.
She has started to learn all about harness training, though at the moment her favourite tactic is simply to sit down and stay put. With patience and encouragement, she will hopefully soon start to take her first few steps on the lead
Ashley has never lived in a home before, so her adopters will need to guide her gently as she learns about house training and adjusts to everyday life. She will need a calm and understanding home where she can blossom in her own time. In the right environment, this sweet girl has all the potential to become a truly wonderful and loyal companion and her future family will be very lucky indeed.
Ashley has arrived at the rescue a little overweight, but with the right care, a balanced diet and a gentle build up of exercise, she should soon be feeling fitter. She is also receiving treatment for very sore ears, which are being carefully managed. During her spay, she had three teeth extracted and two small mammary lumps successfully removed.
