Archer
Archer is a sweet and gentle soul who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. While she was understandably nervous when she first arrived in such unfamiliar surroundings, her gentle nature quickly shone through. She isn’t quite brave enough to approach everyone straight away, but she will wag her tail and happily receive fuss once she feels safe. Once she trusts you, Archer becomes a total lovebug, happily planting herself in front of you for attention and affection.
Archer will need a calm and quiet home where she can settle at her own pace. She will require at least one kind and confident resident dog, ideally similar in size or larger, to guide and reassure her as she learns about home life and the world beyond her comfort zone. She does not like to share her food with other dogs, though she only grumbles to let them know to back off, so she will need to be fed separately in her new home.
As she has never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to be patient and understanding while she learns house training, daily routines, and how to enjoy life as part of a loving family. Archer has begun harness training and does well, but she will need gentle, consistent practice to build her confidence further. She can be worried by loud sounds, so her new family will need to help keep her safe with strategies like double-leading and gradually expanding her world. Archer is looking for a home with no small children, though older teenagers may be suitable if they are gentle and allow her to settle at her own pace.
Archer is carrying a little extra weight at the moment, but with some gentle exercise and a healthy routine, she should feel more comfortable soon. She has had 2 teeth extracted at the time of her spay and was already missing a tooth.
