Floki
Floki is a stunning boy who has come to us after spending most of his life in a home. Sadly, he found himself back with his breeder following an incident involving a smaller dog, but please don't let this put you off as he is truly a wonderful dog!
Floki could happily be homed as an only dog as long as his adopters were around most of the time and had plenty of time to spend with him. He could be homed with a female dog around his size or larger, however he isn't especially interested in other dogs so may prefer to be an only dog.
His true loves are people, food, and tennis balls! He thrives on human companionship and is just so affectionate and loves snuggles and belly rubs. He is so joyful and you can't help but smile when you are around him! He really is a true superstar that could be homed with older-dog savvy children who allow him time to settle.
When Floki arrived, we noticed that he could be reactive around other dogs when out on walks and could lunge towards cars, but we have been working on this with him and he has been doing really well. He can now pass other dogs and cars without reacting, though he’ll still need an experienced owner who can support him and help keep him safe. For now, he will need to stay on a lead unless he’s in a secure, dog-free area. He’s also currently learning to wear a muzzle for walks. He isn't keen on sharing his space with male dogs but is happy to share his kennel with a female dog of his size. He will need a home free of cats and small furries as he is a little too interested!
Floki walks well on a lead and, having lived in a home before, we believe he is house-trained, though he may need a little patience while he adjusts to his new environment.
Floki is a bright, beautiful dog who just needs the right person to believe in him and help him shine. If you’re looking for a one-on-one companion to share your life with, Floki might just be your perfect match.
Floki has come to us with a Grade 3-4 heart murmur, this doesn't require any medication currently but will need to be monitored by his adopters and their vets.
