Marmite
01-09-25 Marmite is a cheeky, funny and clever 6-year-old Shetland Pony who is looking for a new forever home to be loved and continue his training. Marmite was rescued from slaughter and arrived with us in 2023. He was quiet and reserved when he first arrived, but once he settled in, he made it clear that he is full of character! Marmite has heaps of personality and always makes you smile with his funny and cheeky side.
Marmite is a very clever pony who needs constant stimulation and enrichment. He loves learning new things and has even learnt some tricks through clicker training, like stepping up onto a mounting block, which he loves to show off. He can also pull a cart and enjoys going out for drives. However, if he is not stimulated sufficiently and gets bored, this can lead to some behavioural quirks while handling, such as nipping or rearing. Please note he is not a child’s pony.
Marmite is looking for a knowledgeable home where his ground manners can be brought on, he can be driven and exercised, learn new tricks, and be provided with plenty of enrichment. Marmite will need at least one other equine friend, and currently lives with a herd of Shetlands. Marmite will need to be kept on your own property, with sufficient turnout and a stable where he can be brought in when it’s wet. His feeding routine will need to be considered, as he is prone to weight gain.
